About Tralee Rowing Club
Tralee Rowing Club, Cumann Ramhaíochta Thrá Lí, was officially founded in September 2005 by Mary Bonner and Ed Sheldon. The Club is located at the basin end of the Ship canal and is the only rowing club of its kind in North Kerry. It has grown over the years into a Club of over 100 members and caters for people of all ages, both competitively and recreationally.
The Club continues to go from strength to strength. Many people have contributed over the years to the growth and success of the Club. Significant time, commitment and enthusiasm of coaches, successive management and fundraising committees, parents and rowers have all made the Club what it is today.
Rowing Ireland, the National Governing Body, awarded Mary Bonner the Munster Branch Award in 2014, recognising her commitment and dedication to the Club since its inception and to the sport itself.
The clubhouse was the first step in the Club’s infrastructural development plans. The Club is now focusing on improving the launching facility. Planning permission for a new community accessible, disability friendly pontoon was secured in 2016 which has been a huge positive addition. We are now looking towards improving our gym facilities .
